CREATION OF THE
BEARDED REBELLION BEARD CLUB
The Bearded Rebellion Beard Club was started in 2018 by former Bearded Villains members, President – Rob from NJ, VP (RedOne), Scout from the UK, and 2 guys in California. There was no chapters, no structure in the beginning and was pretty much a chat room where members could just talk and hang out. Josh Ramey (RameyTheRed) joined and was made the scout for the club.
Rob, Founder & President of the BRBC, would get on the main BRBC page and go live, talking about himself and the BRBC. Though the intention may have been to recruit, it came across as a means to gain popularity. It was also later discovered that Rob had created the club as a means to get back at the bigger beard clubs which were around at that time. There was also a lot of drama in the beginning, a lot of the members were out for personal gain.
Rob was with his girlfriend at the time, and they were good friends with another BRBC member and his girlfriend. Rob and the member would get drunk and shoot the shit. One night, that BRBC member and his girlfriend overheard Rob and his girlfriend fighting one night. The fight involved some personal matters and no club business. The BRBC member took the information that he overheard to the BRBC Vice President and Captain. The VP and Captain did not know what do with the information, so they began to discuss it in one of the club chats, which Ramey stumbled across.
Rob came into a chat later and informed everyone that he would be taking 2-3 weeks off to deal with a personal matter. Rob returned a few weeks later, like nothing had happened. Rob’s girlfriend, who was a Villianette at the time, asked the BRBC to support a charity event that the Villianette’s were taking part in. Rob shared an image with all the BRBC members in it for feedback because he planned on using it for the charity event. The response that Rob got back were negative (Fuck that!!) and no one wanted to take part in the event. This response sparked a major situation in the BRBC. Rob did not know that members of the BRBC knew about his personal issue. Rob one evening called Ramey while he was drunk and began questioning Ramey about why everyone seemed to be angry at him. Ramey informed Rob that they knew about his fight with his girlfriend and did not like what Rob had said to her. Those members felt that Rob violated the club bylaws about respect and felt Rob was a hypocrite. Rob took those comments to heart and immediately posted a message in the BRBC chats and left the club.
Within Rob’s exit message, he asked the board to demote the VP and Captain as they had conspired to remove him. Rob also asked that Ramey be made the President as he had the only established chapter in the club. Rob also asked that Immo be made the Vice President. Instead of honoring Rob’s request, the club, which had 16 members at the time, held a vote. Ramey was elected to President (9 votes for to 7 votes against) in March 2019.
When Rob left, we went and joined another beard club and told the beard community, that he disbanded the BRBC. This was not true, as BRBC was thriving at the time. After Rob was kicked out of the club he had joined after the BRBC, Rob returned and wanted to be part of the BRBC again and told Ramey to include Rob’s handle in the club tags. Ramey went to the board and told them about what Rob wanted and how Rob was putting stipulations on how the BRBC needs to be run. The board unanimously voted against Rob’s return. When Rob was informed that he would not be welcomed back into the BRBC, Rob immediately told Ramey to change the name of the club and remove all the images. Ramey informed Rob that he had copyrighted the club’s name and image, so he would not stop using the name or images. After this conversation, Rob parted ways with everyone in the BRBC.
CREATION OF THE
INTERNATIONAL BEARD ALLIANCE
In late November 2023, Bearded Rebellion Beard Club International President Josh Ramey became involved in a personal matter with his girlfriend. Ramey’s girlfriend filed a Restraining Order against Ramey alleging domestic violence and subjecting a minor child to domestic violence. Ramey told the BRBC International Board that the Restraining Order was based on false accusations. Shortly after this, Ramey’s Restraining Order began to impact the club’s charity events. A number of charity organizations in Scotland and Pennsylvania began pulling out of charity events involving the BRBC.
In December 2023, The International Board held an emergency board meeting, where they asked Ramey to step away from the club to deal with his personal matter and allow some distance between Ramey’s situation and the club. Ramey became angry and started threatening to remove the entire International Board and replacing them. As the conversations continued in the coming days, Ramey removed an international board member from all the BRBC chats, except the International Board chat, without a board vote as outlined in the club bylaws. News of what Ramey did spread through the BRBC chats and members began confronting Ramey in the club chats. Ramey then began removing club members without holding a vote as outlined in the club bylaws. Members of the International Board held an emergency meeting without Ramey and voted in favor of Ramey’s removal for multiple bylaw violations.
The removal of Ramey created a new era for the remaining members of the BRBC International Board, this resulted in the formation of several clubs:
1) Martin (Martin Sproule): former BRBC International Enforcer and Scotland President, MattTheScribe (Matt Tratnyek): former BRBC International Secretary and Canada Lieutenant, Deecue (Darren Quatsoe): former BRBC International Lieutenant and Wisconsin President , Daz (Darren Burton): former BRBC International Sergeant and UK/England President, and Germ (Jeremy Ketcham): Former BRBC International Social Media Manager and Indiana President, founded the International Beard Alliance.
2) Beanz (Dustin Lightfoot): former International Scout and Kentucky President, founded the Renegade Beard Club.
3) Papaw (Tim Morris): former BRBC International Captain and Maryland President, founded The Bearded Gentlemen of Maryland.
